I can
listen and engage in multiple conversations.
So
Tuesday night was Trivia night again for
me and my friends. Getting eight or nine of us together at one table is fun,
but it can get a little overwhelming. If you have ever worked with small children,
imagine that. But with adults. Eight people, all of whom want each other’s
attention all the time and any given time. It’s like opening Pandora’s box of
chatter.
I’ve
gotten really good at being able to engage in more than one conversation at a
time. I’m also pretty good at keeping track of what people are saying and
gaging how much they really want to say it. I have some friends who need a lot
of help with conversation skills, but I think that all together we get along
just fine.
Challenge
to my Readers:
It
can be a challenge sometimes to listen to your friends and care about the
things that are important to them. You have to try anyway.
