I am
appreciative of the things I can do.
Recently
I’ve been seeing a lot of crap on my facebook feed about people who regret not
doing XYZ when they were younger. I get it, I have regrets too. I would have
been in Paris on a Fencing scholarship if I had taken it when I was fourteen.
But I also would have never met the love of my life, or my amazing friends.
So
I’m taking a moment to appreciate the things I can do: I can sing opera, I can
dance, I can write, I read faster than most people think, I always get the
parking spot furthest away but God graced with two good legs. I work hard for
what I have, I have three degrees, speak four languages and I can do my own
makeup without looking like a raccoon (thanks to Madison.)
The
list goes on and on. I love the idea of learning new gifts and talents, but I
don’t look back at that scholarship letter and think about what I missed. I
think about what I gained by turning it down.
Challenge
to my Readers:
Keep
everything in perspective. The past is the past, done and over. Keep going.
