I am
financially responsible.
Later this
month, in a few days actually, I will be moving into an apartment with my best
friend and my boyfriend. This is possibly the biggest step of my life because
for the first time I will be entirely responsible for paying rent on a place
where I am living. It is also very exciting, because it will be the first time
really having a place of my own.
I am both excited and terrified because
being financially independent is a very scary idea. It’s not so much that
my parents have been paying for everything in my life, but more that there were
a lot of things I didn’t have to worry about paying for because I was living
with them. Heat, water, electricity, internet and rent are just the beginning.
Managing money is always tough, but it is important. I feel like many of my
peers never learned how to properly manage their finances, which is why I’m so
happy I get to live with Taylor and Madison. Two, more financially responsible people I couldn’t imagine.
Being able to
live on my own is something I have always dreamed about. I’m not looking for an
easy life, I’m looking for a good one. I know how to manage my money and my
time and how to make sure everything works out. It is nerve wracking, but I think we’ll be okay.
Challenge to
my Readers:
Be good about
your money by keeping track of it. Even when you shop, mentally round up to the
nearest whole dollar to be sure you don’t over spend.
