Day One Hundred and Thirty Two: Sneaky

I am a sneaky little bastard when I want to be.
Okay, so all the work being done in the Supreme Court was starting to get to me. I decided at work that I really wanted to show my support, but I realized that I didn’t know if my owners would really want me to post up a sign with an equal sign on it. Although, knowing my owners, they probably wouldn’t know what it would mean.
Plus, my shop is in a weirdly Christian area. There are three mega-churches in the area, all of which are those super orthodox, Bible as literal word kind of places. Normally I wouldn’t care, but they are my clientele base and I have to be respectful of their ideals since they buy our stuff.

So, in a sneaky little subversive moment, I made a cake with a super huge rainbow on it. Because nothing says ice cream like rainbows. Lots and lots of rainbows.
I know it doesn’t seem like a lot, but that’s the point. Little actions that demonstrate support and tolerance are what really make the day worth it. I’m proud of the small ways I show my support and in the small ways I can make my shop more welcoming.
And everybody loves rainbows.

Challenge to my Readers:
Wear a pin or a sticker, do something small to show the world what you care about. Do it because the world should know what you think is important. Do it because you care.
