There
is this meme going around the internets lately, called good guy boss. It’s kind
of a spin off of Good Guy Greg (google it.) It’s usually about a boss doing something
surprisingly nice for their workers.
I am
a good guy boss.
For
example: I worried about my hires (mostly young women) walking alone at night
after work if their phones died. So I bought a charger for the shop.
Our
neighbors turned into parking Nazis over the summer and told us we only had one
spot, so I park down the road every day so my coworker can have the spot.
Even
though I’m a manager and can pick my shifts, I work at least two shifts on the
weekends and always work both closing and opening shifts so I know what’s going
on in my shop.
I do
a lot of things in my store to try and keep it the best for both my employees
and my customers. I want my store to run smoothly. That isn’t working out so
well right now, but I’m getting there slowly.
Challenge
to my Readers:
Everything
you do for someone else is important.
