I
helped fill out a missing person report.
So, I
have this favorite old customer. His name is Ben. He comes in every day and
gets the exact same shake. Some days he can’t come in because he’s doing
physical therapy, so his wife, June, comes in for him.
The
other day he came in like usual, got his shake, signed his receipt. I walked
him to his car and said good bye. A few hours later I was off for a bit and
came back in. June had come in while I was gone and told us that Ben was
missing. I called her up and talked to her. I helped her through the process of
filing a police report since he is an at-risk individual.
She
came in today with him and told us that they found him safe, but that he
probably shouldn’t be driving anymore. I think it’s sad that a person hits a
point in their life when they can’t function alone anymore. Luckily, Ben has
June to look out for him.
Challenge
to my Readers:
I don’t
like old people, they scare me, but you still have to respect them. Sometimes
their life is just a little harder than ours is.
